Meeting Locations and Directions

Sign up for the monthly newsletter to receive timely notices of meeting changes. We never share your address and we generally only write once a month.

At Project Linus volunteer meetings, we inspect, label, size, and bag every donated blanket that goes to a child in need. Anyone wanting to help is welcome. You do not need sewing, crocheting, or knitting experience. We have many tasks which can be done on an individual basis or in a group: fabric cutting, blanket labeling, individually packaging each blanket with a little poem, etc. If you do sew, we suggest bringing your own sewing machine (if possible) along with your sewing tools. If you sew and can't bring a machine, please let us know in advance and we will bring an extra machine for you to work with. We have materials to hand-sew labels on crocheted and knitted items.

We have a significant supply of donated fabric and yarn available for blanket making at the South group meeting location. Also, there are extra scissors, pins, cutting boards, ironing board, etc. available. Since it depends on what we receive in donations, we cannot predict what we will have available to work on at any particular meeting. If you want to work on something you started at home, that's great too. And show-and-tell is always a big part of the fun!

FRIENDLY NOTE: Since both groups meet during the noon hours, it's optional to bring along a food item to share. We generally take a break for a smorgasbord of sorts and enjoy conversation and news of chapter activities.

Thank you to those so kindly providing these meeting places.

NORTH

Our North group meets at Christ Episcopal Church's Outreach Center from 10:00 am to about 1:00 pm in Cedar Park on the FOURTH Saturday of January through October, and sometimes even in November. And there's a cookie exchange in December.

Christ Episcopal Church, 3520 W. Whitestone Blvd, Cedar Park, TX 78613.

The location is roughly four miles west of US Hwy. 183. FM 1431 is divided after you turn onto it from 183, so you have to go to Trails End Road and make a U-turn to get to the church. It is on the eastbound side of FM 1431 (aka Whitestone Blvd.).

SOUTH

The South group hosts monthly blanket making sessions on the THIRD Saturday of MOST months (as long as holidays don't occur then) (except November and December) from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. And we often have a retreat/fun-work day in April or May instead of the working meeting.

Manchaca Baptist Church, 1215 FM 1626, Manchaca, TX 78652.

BASTROP

The Bastrop Group meets at the Colorado River Cowboy Church 5122 TX-71, Smithville, TX 78957.

This is east of Smithville on Highway 71.
Their meeting dates and hours vary depending on activities at the church, so if you're interested, email Helen Taylor for details of any month's meeting you want to attend.
